Marijuana was officially legalized in Canada on October 17, 2018 under the Cannabis Act. Since then, questions have arisen surrounding the unchartered territory of cannabis in Canada. On Wednesday, February 20, 2019, imperative questions concerning the legalization of marijuana were answered at a PLUS Canada Breakfast Seminar on Cannabis Market Risks and Rewards.
The event took place at the Toronto Region Board of Trade and was a resounding success with over 100 leading professionals from the insurance and legal industry opting to attend. Guests enjoyed two in-depth sessions, which consisted of a panel of experts discussing cannabis from a financial, insurance, legal, investment and employment perspective. Attendees walked away from the event with a wealth of knowledge on the future status of legalized marijuana and how changing legislation will impact the workplace.
